THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE MOST MERCIFUL, THE MOST MERCIFUL
Blessed City of Tivaouane
: COSKAS Commemoration of the Prophet’s Birth 1447 AH / 2026
General Theme: « Uniting Hearts and Words through the Word of Oneness: La ilaha illa Allah (There is no god but Allah). »
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, who has made the commemoration of the birth of the Seal of the Prophets, our master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), a privileged occasion to rekindle faith, draw upon the lessons of the past, and build a future filled with light, peace, and righteousness.
Allah, the Exalted, says: « Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example. »
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: « I have only been sent to perfect noble character. » The celebration of Mawlid is thus an opportunity to rekindle the moral and spiritual values that form the foundation of any prosperous society. No community can hope for progress without the virtues of justice, fraternity, mercy, and mutual respect.
On this subject, the revered Sheikh El Hadj Malick Sy. May Allah be pleased with him) wrote in his famous Nouniyya: “Her birth is a source of honor and blessings; extolling her is the path that leads to the fulfillment of the noblest aspirations.”
This year’s theme reflects the directives of the Caliph General of the Tijaniyya Sufi order, His Eminence Sheikh Abou Bakr Sy Mansour (may Allah preserve him), in a global context marked by divisions, conflicts, social fractures, and the erosion of human values. Too often, the law of the strongest prevails at the expense of justice, solidarity, and human dignity.
As the poet says: « Everyone claims to love Layla, but Layla recognizes none of them. »
Our societies are not spared from these challenges, whether they are social, political, economic, or cultural.
Therefore, the Scientific and Cultural Commission proposes to address the following areas of reflection under the general theme « Uniting Hearts and Words through the Word of Oneness »:
- How can unity be achieved under the banner of « La ilaha illa Allah » (There is no god but Allah)? The Oneness of Allah constitutes the strongest bond that can unite believers. Allah says: « Hold fast, all of you, to the rope of Allah and do not be divided. »
(may Allah be pleased with him) wrote in his famous Nuniyya: « His birth is a source of honor and blessings; exalting him is the path that leads to the fulfillment of the noblest aspirations. »
